With the SO-20, you'll be able to enjoy low-cost international and domestic calling and free Skype-to-Skype calls most anywhere in the world—or right at home—with any available Wi-Fi connection. The SO-20 has your maximum convenience in mind. After a few hours' charging, the SO-20 is ready to go—no hassles with installing Skype or frustrations with endless setting configurations. The SO-20 will automatically detect any available networks, and you can simply select your preferred network and input a password if necessary. From there, sign directly into your existing Skype account, or create a new free Skype account right there on the phone. The SO-20 will connect to your account and import your contact list, along with such things as Skype Credit. Non-Skype mobile phone or landline users can call you directly if you opt into the SkypeIn program, while you can call non-Skype phones via the optional SkypeOut program. Your Skype voicemail (another optional service) is also easily accessible.
While the SO-20 is fully integrated with Skype, it handles like a traditional cordless phone, and it has all the features and functionality you've grown accustomed to. Control sounds with silent mode and ring tone options, and know how much battery life you have left and signal strength you're enjoying via the familiar main screen, just to name a few. The brightly-lit LCD screen, backlit keys, and large menu icons ensure quick, intuitive navigation.
Still needs some work3/18/2010
The phone has the feel and look of cheap plastic. At first there was an echo but the latest firmware took care of that. Now for the needed improvements: 1. Turn off the display when charging. 2. Create a key lock. 3. Improve the battery life. After initial charge, 3-4 hours, it died after 11 hours. 4. Include predictive texting. 5. Needs a better backlit keyboard. 6. Actually auto-connect to open wireless networks. I have to press the connect key. 7. Add a speaker. 8. Add a browser!!! [by Mike Mueller from Atlanta, GA USA]

I just bought one of these phones. When the signal is good, its better than Fring.. no delay. Its a B/G 802.11 phone so the range is only about 30 feet, further causes the end of words to get dropped off… and patchy reception of the other end’s words. No speaker phone, which sux, but the rest of the experience is, so far (after 12 hours) so good. [by Kyle X. Hourihan from San Jose, California USA ]
skype phone with familiar feel2/24/2010
If you have used a cell phone within the last 8 years you can use this phone. Practically it works like a cell phone in that it hold your contacts and makes calls with a PC. If you have a Skype Out account this is the phone to get. I have used the Phillips phone before this one and I like this on tons better. I ordered from Amazon and received it in 2 days. Initially I wasn't impressed however went, checked the firmware, updated it to the latest version and wow I have used many, many Skype phones, but the SO-20 from IPEVO is superb. As good as (or as some said better) than my land line or mobile calls yet a fraction of the price. Dead easy to use and even better that it's a standard mini-USB to charge it, so don't even have to lug anything around with me when I travel. [by Eiren from London]
