Draw, Annotate, Interact, Inspire
No whiteboard? No problem. The IPEVO Interactive Whiteboard System, or IS-01, transforms most any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard. Pair IS-01 with a computer and projector – even portable or short-throw projectors – and in just a few simple steps you can draw and annotate on a projected "board" large enough for the entire class – up to 100"!
*Computer and Projector not included.
IS-01 is made up of two devices: the Sensor Cam and the Interactive Pen. The Sensor Cam detects the physical location of the Pen and sends this information to your computer, which then translates the Pen’s motion into cursor motion. Cursor movements, mouse clicks, and mouse drags can all be accomplished in real time, meaning you’ll be able to control what’s on screen, just as if you were at the computer.
Annotate with IPEVO Annotator
The free IPEVO Annotator software (Open Link in New Window) can be used in combination with a wide variety of other applications. Draw, write and annotate onto images on the screen in real time using an intuitive drawing toolkit. Or, create a blank whiteboard to turn your projector screen into a true interactive whiteboard.
- IPEVO Software
- No collecting or accessing of any personal information.
- No registration required.
- All pictures and videos taken are stored on local drive.
- Easy to be completely uninstalled when not required.
IS-01 is small enough to be transported between classrooms or even slipped into a pencil case for remote presentations. Introducing IS-01 into a new environment is a breeze, and a new setup can be accomplished in minutes. The Sensor Cam has a wide range of acceptable distances and can be affixed directly to ceiling-mounted projectors or set on tables or AV carts.
Competing interactive whiteboards can cost a small fortune! Save money and create dynamic new ways to learn with the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System.
Please note: Computer and projector are not included in the package. You need to have an existing computer and projector to pair with the IS-01.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most traditional interactive whiteboards use resistive or capacitive touch panels, which is the main reason why their cost cannot be lowered. The size and weight of the board also increases the freight (shipping) cost. As a result, these boards can cost thousands of dollars. By contrast, IS-01 is designed around infrared (IR), an inexpensive technology. A Sensor Cam, connected to the computer and directed toward the screen, captures IR signals sent out by the Interactive Pen. These signals are converted into coordinates which control the mouse cursor. With this innovative use of IR, IS-01 doesn't need a costly touch panel. Thus, we are able to manufacture IS-01 at an affordable price.
- Some expensive interactive whiteboards can be operated with fingers and other materials, while IS-01 only works with its Interactive Pen.
- The Interactive Pen must remain within view of the Sensor Cam to work. The user (or viewers) cannot block the area between the Sensor Cam and the Pen with their body. This limitation does not apply to most traditional interactive whiteboards.
- IS-01 does not support multi-touch functions. Only 1 Interactive Pen can be used at a time. Some traditional interactive whiteboards do support multi-touch.
Please take these facts into consideration before making your purchase. Carefully weighing the benefits and limitations of IS-01 will help you decide which whiteboard setup is the right one for your needs.
Yes you can, but we do not recommend it due to the following considerations:
- The TV/monitor screen could be scratched over time from all the Pen swipes.
- The brightness of the TV/monitor can cause eye fatigue over long sessions.
- If the TV/monitor is not firmly mounted, it might move once you start tapping, throwing off the calibration.
Yes, IS-01 can be used with IPEVO document cameras. Annotator has a button to launch Presenter software which displays real-time video from your doc cam. Documents, textbooks, artwork, 3D objects, handwritten notes, math equations, or anything else can be presented for sharing and annotating.
A soft projector screen is not recommended for use with IS-01 because the surface will move, which may affect Interactive Pen accuracy. When the Interactive Pen is pressed against the surface of the soft projector screen, the screen is likely to move. As a result, the Sensor Cam may capture the Interactive Pen at an incorrect location, resulting in an inaccurate cursor. With that said, if you are able to keep the screen steady or flat against the wall, pressing the IPEVO button on the Interactive Pen instead of directly touching the screen surface could still work for you.
IS-01 can be used with any image processing software and whiteboards. Any mouse-based software should work fine. Please note that IS-01 also comes with an interactive whiteboard software called Annotator (Open Link in New Window) which features virtual whiteboards, drawing tools such as shapes and colors, and integration with IPEVO doc cams and Presenter software. Annotator can also be used in combination with any other application.
IS-01 does not support multi-touch functions. Only one Interactive Pen will be captured at a time, regardless of the number of activated Interactive Pens. However, if you have two sets of computers and projectors running side by side, two IS-01s may be used separately.
IS-01 doesn't connect directly to your projector—it connects to your computer. Therefore, any projector that is compatible with your computer before adding IS-01 to your setup should display and calibrate without issue after connecting IS-01.
Extended screen display is only supported if you are using a Mac. Unfortunately, if you are using Windows, there is no way that our IS-01 could support extended screen display, not even with any third party application. It will only work in mirror mode.
We have USB 2.0 Extension Cable (16 Feet) (Open External Link in New Window) and USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable (32 Feet) (Open External Link in New Window), they are both tested compatible with IS-01. USB 2.0 Extension Cable (16 Feet) and IS-01 combination is known incompatible with Macbooks manufactured after 2013. If you have such Macbooks, please select the USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable (32 Feet) instead.
