IPEVO Press & Media https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/ IPEVO Press & Media IPEVO RSS 2.0 Generator en hourly 1 IPEVO Introduces IW2 Wireless Interactive Whiteboard System to Meet Demands of Digital Learning https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/77 Sun, 7 Jun 2015 16:00:00 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/77 “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the IW2,” said Royce Hong, IPEVO CEO and Big Head of Design. “With the digital learning movement upon us, teachers need affordable options to create technology-rich classrooms. The IW2 is not only budget-friendly, but its intuitive, easy-to-use technology allows teachers to adopt new teaching methods that increase student engagement without the need for training—it’s so easy to use, in fact, even young students will be able to use it.”

IW2 features include:

  • Affordable – At $169, IW2 is thousands less than conventional interactive whiteboards
  • Wireless – Cutting the cord between Sensor Cam and computer means it adapts to any classroom setup
  • User friendly – Set up, calibrate and start using in less than five minutes
  • Intuitive – Effortlessly control mouse cursors or freely annotate with IPEVO's Annotator software
  • Compatible – Works with PC, Mac and all types of projectors, including short-throw and most flat surfaces

“I teach environmental science to about 60 students, and I use the IW2 daily in my classroom,” said Nick LaFave, teacher at Clover School District in South Carolina. “For example, I use the IW2 to annotate web pages and images, or write and draw on a blank background. I especially like that it’s very easy to save my annotations. Students have also found it easy to use for labeling diagrams or working through calculations. It creates a more visual, hands-on experience, which actively engages them in the learning process.”

The IW2 is made up of three lightweight and portable devices, so it can be easily swapped between classrooms. The Interactive Pen allows users to draw, annotate and control software apps, remotely and right at the board. This includes mouse drags and both right and left button clicks. The Wireless Receiver can be plugged into an open USB port, allowing the Sensor Cam to communicate with the computer. The Sensor Cam is a small device that receives infrared signals from the Interactive Pen and translates them into cursor movements and mouse button presses.

The IPEVO Whiteboard App for Educators is Now Available for Android Tablet https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/76 Tue, 30 Dec 2014 15:56:36 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/76 The Whiteboard app from ed tech company IPEVO helps educators share and annotate their teaching material. Whiteboard has long been available for the Apple iPad, but now IPEVO has made a new version of the popular annotation software which is compatible with Android tablets. IPEVO Whiteboard for Android is available at no cost through the Google Play store.

The IPEVO Whiteboard app provides intuitive drawing tools – such as lines and multiple colors – which annotate and emphasize teaching material in order to clarify and enhance lessons and presentations. The user is able to create different "boards" within the Whiteboard application using a plain white background, an image from a photo library, and more. These boards can be drawn upon, switched between, and saved for future reference.

While IPEVO Whiteboard is useful as a standalone application, it is also often used in classroom environments when paired with one of IPEVO's signature document cameras such as the iZiggi-HD wireless doc cam. Non-wireless IPEVO doc cams, such as the Point 2 View USB doc cam, can be displayed on Whiteboard using a separate device, the WS-01 Wireless Station. In the classroom, a doc cam serves to capture and display real-time video of documents, artwork, 3D objects, and devices with screens. With the newest version of Whiteboard for Android, an IPEVO doc cam can be paired with an Android device in order to present the doc cam's capture as the background for a board. The user can then draw on top of the captured material for annotation purposes.

At present, the Android version of Whiteboard features fewer tools than the iPad version. While users accustomed to the iPad version will recognize the interface and basic tools such as pointer, free draw and the eraser tool, certain other features are not currently available on the Android version. These include text boxes, shapes, and the ability to record video.

"Whiteboard is all about giving educators more ways to effectively reach their students," said Royce Hong, CEO of IPEVO. "In that spirit, we're pleased to be able to give educators one more way to use Whiteboard. Whether you use iOS or Android, chances are you'll find a myriad of uses for IPEVO Whiteboard. It's simple to use and can be utilized in a matter of seconds. But more than that, Whiteboard helps educators put the proper focus on what's important. In short, Whiteboard helps make teaching material come alive."

The IPEVO Whiteboard annotation app is available for iOS through the App Store and is now available for Android tablets through the Google Play store. Both versions are free to download and use.

The IPEVO PadPillow Earns 4.4-Star Rating on Amazon with Over 300 5-Star Reviews https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/75 Tue, 25 Nov 2014 09:25:47 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/75 A new plateau has been reached for the IPEVO PadPillow Pillow Stand for tablets and e-readers. With over 500 Amazon reviewers weighing in on the versatile PadPillow, over 300 people have awarded a 5-star rating, with an average of 4.4 stars. With the holidays fast approaching, the PadPillow is now available at a gift-friendly price of $26.50 via Amazon.com or via the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.

PadPillow is a signature item from IPEVO, the Sunnyvale, California-based tech company which specializes in educational teaching tools and business/consumer accessories. "PadPillow is all about using your device, your way," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "From kindergartners to older adults, PadPillow has enough comfort and utility for most everyone on your holiday shopping list."

Made from plush foam with a 100% cotton cover, PadPillow's soft triangular shape allows it to conform to any surface it is placed on, whether that's the couch, bed, carpet, or even the user's own body. By positioning PadPillow, users can achieve precise, comfortable viewing angles for movie watching, reading, surfing the web, gaming, learning apps and more. Due to its open design, PadPillow can accommodate a large range of devices including all generations of iPad, iPad Mini, Google Nexus and other tablets, and even traditional books and magazines.

A selection of reviews from PadPillow's Amazon product page demonstrate the range of opinions concerning IPEVO's pillow stand. For one example, reviewer Wynella Masterson makes a comparison between Padpillow and other types of stands: "[I] enjoy this item. Makes using my tablet easier to use compared to the tablet covers with stands attached to them. It doesn't lose its ability to keep your tablet in a standing position. The other styles become flimsy or just don't work right to begin with."

Reviewer M. Brown commented on PadPillow's comfort factor and its uses for Kindle: "I love this pillow stand for my Kindle HD 7' and 8.9". I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to hold a Kindle for a long time due to arthritis or something else." And reviewer Talia Besconi talked about PadPillow's dual use at home and at the office: "A friend bought me one of these for my birthday and I am absolutely thrilled. It looks professional at my business meetings and it's perfect for lounging in front of the TV at home too. It's soft but sturdy, does exactly as advertised and looks good. I plan to get another in a different color. Well done IPEVO!"

PadPillow is available from Amazon.com and from IPEVO.com in five colors: Steve's Blue Jeans, Light Khaki, Charcoal Gray, Honeysuckle and Lemongrass. Whether one's holiday gift list includes a spouse, child, older adult, teacher or business commuter, the consensus from Amazon reviewer seems clear: the IPEVO PadPillow Pillow Stand is worth checking out this holiday season.

IPEVO's VX-1 Internet Conference Station Now Compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/74 Sun, 2 Nov 2014 09:34:22 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/74 The recent release of the newest generation of Apple iPhones – the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – has meant the introduction of several new features and improvements. Now, one more improvement is possible – superior audio for teleconferencing – thanks to the VX-1 Internet Conference Station. This conference station from tech company IPEVO features full compatibility with iDevices such as the iPad and now the newest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. VX-1 is available at a price of $219 from the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.

The VX-1 Internet Conference Station is designed for more natural two-way conversations for virtual meetings. Five separate microphones embedded in the device can capture any configuration of voices, whether it's a single speaker or a room full of participants. The microphones function in full duplex, meaning that both parties can talk simultaneously. The default microphone is called the Omnidirectional or Omni mic, and it captures sound in a full 360 degrees so that the entire room can be heard. Separate from the Omni mic, four Unidirectional (Uni) mics can be selected to focus voice capture on a narrow section of the room while filtering out unwanted noise.

In addition to its unique mic customizations, VX-1 features a 16-bit Digital Sound Processor (DSP) with built-in hardware acceleration, adaptive noise suppression, echo cancellation, and a 16kHz sampling rate. On top of this DSP, a second and specialized sound processor is dedicated to clarifying and enhancing the human voice. The result is extremely high-quality voice reproduction that sounds more like a face-to-face conversation.

VX-1's intuitive button placements and simple functions – including volume, one-touch mute and mic selection – offer new users a way to immediately operate the device after only a few seconds. Plus, the current status (such as the mic configuration and mute) can be ascertained at a glance thanks to bright LED indicators.

While VX-1 is plug-and-play for PC and Mac via USB, Apple users will be pleased to know that VX-1 also works seamlessly with iDevices including the iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone 5 and the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. VX-1 connects to these devices via a 3.5mm audio jack, transforming an iDevice into an instant conference station. Many popular VoIP programs are compatible with VX-1 including GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, Skype, Adobe Connect and Facetime.

"IPEVO always strives to keep our products current and compatible with the newest technology out there," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Like us, our customers are eager for the newest technology, and we want to make sure IPEVO is right there to help them get the most out of that technology. VX-1 is now the clear and affordable choice for users of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus who need superior audio for teleconferencing – in the office or on the go."

IPEVO Presenter Software for Document Cameras Now Features Chrome and Chromebook Support https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/73 Wed, 22 Oct 2014 10:12:04 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/73 Presenter and IPEVO document cameras offer educators and businesspeople a way to capture material such as documents, artwork, 3D objects and devices with screens. Through Presenter, real-time images are displayed on the computer and can then be transmitted to a connected projector for classroom and conference room presentations. Presenter is compatible with IPEVO's current line of document cameras including the Point 2 View, Ziggi, Ziggi-HD, iZiggi-HD(USB mode) and VZ-1 Dual-Mode doc cams.

Standard features on Presenter include a Live View of the real-time video feed; Full Screen mode to fill the entire screen for presentations; snapshot capture; a freeze function for freezing the current image; Review mode for managing snapshots; and various tools to change digital zoom and resolution.

Chrome support comes as a follow-up to a major recent software update which introduced a totally redesigned interface and additional tools like integrated video recording. Users of the standard version of Presenter will find that only a few things have changed in the streamlined version for Chrome and Chromebooks. Due to system limitations, a handful of features needed to be downgraded or eliminated. The new 360-degree rotation feature is more limited on Chrome, and only four resolutions are available on the Chrome version. There are also no Interval Shooting or video recording features on Chrome.

"Through talking with educators, we realized that many schools are now using Chromebooks as part of their technology initiatives," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "We certainly didn't want to leave these Chromebook adopters out in the cold when it comes to getting the most out of IPEVO document cameras. We're pleased to bring the IPEVO Presenter experience to Chromebooks, a platform which educators and their students will surely continue to embrace and innovate."

The IPEVO Presenter app for the Google Chrome web browser and for Chromebooks is now available at no charge through the Chrome Web Store. The standard Presenter version is available at http://support.ipevo.com.

Updated Presenter Software for IPEVO Document Cameras Features New Video Recording Feature and More https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/72 Mon, 29 Sep 2014 13:01:18 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/72 Ed tech company IPEVO's Presenter software – which many businesspeople and educators use in conjunction with IPEVO document cameras – has gotten a redesigned interface and several new features in a major update. IPEVO Presenter offers a suite of tools and image customizations for the company's line of document cameras, including the Point 2 View, Ziggi-HD and iZiggi-HD, and the VZ-1 HD. Presenter is available for free to download and use for non-commercial purposes and is available through the IPEVO website at http://www.ipevo.com.

Available for PC and Mac, IPEVO Presenter displays a Live View of the real-time video feed from a connected IPEVO document camera. Features include a Full Screen mode to fill the entire screen for large-screen projections; automatic and manual exposure; the ability to take snapshots; an up to 6x digital zoom; on-the-fly resolution toggle; a freeze function to freeze the current image; and a Review mode to manage snapshots.

The new-look Presenter features a cleaner and more intuitive interface to make features and customizations easier to use. Presenter now also includes several new tools which have been added due to popular demand. Perhaps the most important addition is the new video recording function. In the past, users of Presenter were encouraged to use third-party software to record the video from the live stream of the document camera. Now, video recording is an integrated feature and no third-party software is required. Video can be used for such projects as tutorials, demonstrations, v-blogs and e-learning videos. Review mode now includes the ability to sort and manage videos in addition to snapshots. In Review mode, users can also sort photos by date, categorize different types of images, enter Full Screen mode for projection purposes, and set up an album to organize their images.

Among other new features is a way to automate the taking of snapshots over a user-defined interval and desired number of shots. Interval shooting is appropriate for teachers needing to archive a large amount of material quickly. It's also ideal for time-lapse photography (for example, in science experiments) and for stop-motion art projects. A time-lapse video series of photographs can be automatically generated by Presenter without the need for other editing software. Also included with the update is a 360-degree rotation of the Live View which replaces the more limited horizontal and vertical flip/flop function of previous versions. One-click access to 90, 180, and 270 degree rotations are included, along with many intervals in between.

Another important new addition is multiple document camera support. Now two IPEVO doc cams can be connected to the computer and used. Presenter creates two windows so the respective feeds can be viewed at the same time. A variant of this function is to use two windows to show the same feed from a single document camera, which is currently available for Mac versions only. In this way, one window can be used to zoom in and otherwise highlight important parts of the default feed.

"This significant update for IPEVO Presenter came about from direct customer feedback," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "The ability to record video is a frequent request from our loyal users, and we're extremely pleased to be able to bring it to them with this new and improved version of Presenter. Other new features like multiple doc cam support and interval shooting give users specific, practical tools for applications in both classroom and office environments."

Ed tech company IPEVO's Presenter software – which many businesspeople and educators use in conjunction with IPEVO document cameras – has gotten a redesigned interface and several new features in a major update.

IPEVO Introduces the VX-1 Internet Conference Station https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/71 Wed, 3 Sep 2014 10:43:55 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/71 With a rallying cry of "high-quality, hassle-free teleconferencing," education technology company IPEVO has just released the VX-1 Internet Conference Station for teachers, businesspeople, and others who depend on teleconferencing and virtual meetings. With advanced sound technology for isolating, enhancing and clarifying the human voice, VX-1 is being touted as a superior alternative to built-in microphones and speakers as well as existing conference stations on the market. VX-1 is now available from the IPEVO Online Store at www.ipevo.com at a price of $219.

VX-1 features a modern design in black with five separate microphones to capture any combination of voices around the table. The default Omnidirectional microphone (or Omni mic) captures sound in a full 360 degrees so that everyone in the room can be heard without yelling or crowding around the station. VX-1 also features four Unidirectional microphones (or Uni mics) which can be selected via Zone Enhanced Mode. These selectable Uni mics have a larger range and higher sensitivity than the Omni mic, and are best for capturing a single person while filtering out unwanted background noise.

At the heart of VX-1 is a 16-bit Digital Sound Processor (DSP) with full duplex, meaning that both sides of the conversation can talk at the same time to more closely emulate a face-to-face conversation. The DSP has built-in hardware acceleration and a 16kHz sampling rate with adaptive noise suppression and echo cancellation. A separate, specialized sound processor serves to clarify, smooth and enhance human voices in order to avoid the "thin" or "unnatural" effect that many DSPs are known for.

The button interface of VX-1 is deliberately simple such that a new user can immediately understand how to operate the station. Buttons for volume control, one-touch mute and mic selection are located on the top of the unit. Additionally, bright LED indicators show which microphone is in use or whether the unit is muted to eliminate guesswork.

The VX-1 Internet Conference Station is compatible with PC or Mac via plug-and-play USB. The station also features a 3.5mm audio jack and cable which can be connected to an iDevice including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. In this way, an iDevice connected to VX-1 becomes a professional-level conference station for impromptu meetings. VX-1 is fully compatible with many popular VoIP applications including Skype, Adobe Connect, GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, Facetime and more.

"Whether it's for business meetings or remote learning sessions, our customers have communicated a need for high-quality voice transmission as opposed to the inferior experience using built-in microphones and speakers," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Too often, participants in a remote meeting feel they need to huddle around the microphone and talk louder and harsher to be understood. VX-1's advanced technology allows for a natural mode of conversation that closely mimics chatting with someone in the same room. As we like to say, it's the next best thing to being there."

Alongside many other products for education and business, the VX-1 Internet Conference Station is now available through the IPEVO Online Store at www.ipevo.com.

IPEVO Creates Technology-Rich Classrooms on a Budget for Back to School Time https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/70 Thu, 21 Aug 2014 14:39:54 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/70 "IPEVO has spent the last several years creating a line of feature-rich yet affordable teaching tools for educators who wish to embrace technology in their classrooms," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "As we interact with the education community through conferences and correspondence, we often meet educators who feel new technology is either too expensive or too much of a hassle to bother with. But we think we've been changing minds everyday by sharing IPEVO tech and showing exactly what is possible."

As Apple's iPad has made its way into more and more learning environments, IPEVO has met demand for new ways to use the tablet with the company's iZiggi-HD Wireless Document Camera. The camera can capture teaching material like devices with screens, documents and 3D objects, and then stream real-time video to the iPad without wires. Such a setup brings material closer to students, frees the teacher up to interact more closely with students, and allows such things as real-time annotation when paired with a projector, Apple TV, and IPEVO's free Annotator app. And at a price of $159, iZiggi-HD costs hundreds less than conventional document cameras without wireless streaming capability.

For even more affordable document camera options, IPEVO has several devices to choose from. The VZ-1 Dual-Mode Document Camera is available for $139 and provides the ability to connect to a monitor or projector directly with no computer required. The next camera down is the original Ziggi-HD at $94. While Ziggi-HD does not feature the wireless capability of its cousin, it can be connected to PC or Mac via USB, and it boasts a 5.0 Megapixel camera for high-definition capture. An even cheaper option is the Point 2 View USB Document Camera at only $69. The camera's 2.0 Megapixel camera still delivers a high-quality image, and the camera itself can be taken off its stand for tight close-ups and handheld operation. All of IPEVO's document cameras feature a signature multi-jointed swing-arm which makes capture quick and easy.

Another flagship IPEVO product for educators is the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System. Available for $149 – hundreds or thousands less than competing boards – IS-01 turns most any whiteboard or other flat surface into an interactive whiteboard. An Interactive Pen is controlled by the teacher or student, and gestures made with the Pen are translated into cursor movements and mouse clicks. In this way, the computer and its software can be controlled remotely at the board. Presentations, learning games, and interactive exercises of all types can be accomplished at the board by the class.

"Back to school is a great time for educators to take stock and evaluate what could be improved from last year," said Mr. Hong. "Teaching tools don't replace the hard work that must be put into learning by both teacher and student, but what IPEVO teaching tools do is expand the ways in which teachers can engage and inspire students. When a teacher and student discover a new way to explore material, it's very special."

IPEVO's Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com is ready to fulfill the needs of educators and students as they meet the challenges of the new school year.

IPEVO's Newest Product is the 70 inches Projection Screen with Magnetic Backing; Screen for Middle School and Older Students Provides an Instant Classroom Whiteboard https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/69 Mon, 30 Jun 2014 11:00:22 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/69 In its continuing mission to provide affordable and functional tools to teachers around the world, educational technology company IPEVO has just released its newest product: the 70" Projection Screen with Magnetic Backing. The screen turns most any flat surface into a whiteboard which may be written upon with traditional dry erase markers. Its distinct visual enhancements also mean the screen can be used as a projection surface. The 70" Projection Screen is now available through IPEVO's Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com at a price of $109.

The 70" Projection Screen comes on the heels of IPEVO's 60" screen, a smaller size intended for younger elementary school learners. The 70" screen – whose ample size encourages student participation and interaction – is appropriate for students at the middle school, high school and college levels. It measures 43.3 inches high by 57.9 inches wide, equivalent to a 70" television screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The screen itself is a high-quality and non-adhesive sheet with a magnetic backing that can be applied to an existing whiteboard or any magnetic surface. Because of a unique coating applied to the screen's surface, the screen provides a better visual experience than conventional classroom whiteboards. This coating allows light (whether ambient or projected) to spread evenly across the surface, resulting in a maximized viewing angle of 180/180. Thus, even students off to the extreme sides of the screen can view and understand projected or written teaching material.

Another advantage the 70" Projection Screen has over conventional whiteboards involves reflectivity. Standard whiteboards are highly reflective, and glare often becomes an issue for students viewing the board, particularly when it comes to text. The Projection Screen's coated surface enhances both contrast and sharpness while also reducing or eliminating glare. This makes the viewing experience more pleasant and less tiring on the eyes. Projected material at up to full HD resolution also benefits from these enhancements. Blurriness and distortion are similarly reduced or eliminated during projection.

The lightweight screen is rugged yet flexible and can be rolled up for compact storage and transportation. It is small enough to be carried in the trunk or back seat of a car, for example. The magnetic backing of the screen is similarly pliable, and can be affixed to existing whiteboards or other magnetic surfaces without tools or other adhesives. Alternatively, IPEVO advises the use of high-strength bonding tape or Velcro strips for permanent or semi-permanent installations onto non-magnetic walls and surfaces.

A wide variety of popular dry erase marker brands have been tested and approved for use with the projection screen. Marks can be wiped clean just as with a standard whiteboard. Additionally, IPEVO bills the 70" Projection Screen as an ideal companion accessory for the company's IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System, which allows projected computer screens to be interacted with via a special Interactive Pen.

"This screen's generous size gives educators plenty of room to present their material with outstanding visual clarity," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Classroom whiteboards, and particularly stained and worn-out boards, are plagued by glare and clarity problems. Thanks to a surface coating we extensively prototyped, this inexpensive and portable sheet delivers superior sharpness and contrast for a better viewing experience."

The 70" Projection Screen with Magnetic Backing is now available at the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.

IPEVO Releases Replacement Pen for the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System; Lost Pens Can Be Replaced Without Rebuying Entire IS-01 System https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/68 Mon, 30 Jun 2014 10:56:14 +0000 IPEVO https://www.ipevo.com/press_media/article/68 Educational technology company IPEVO's IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System can turn most any existing whiteboard or projector surface into an interactive whiteboard. While IS-01 has been embraced by the education community as an affordable alternative to much more expensive interactive whiteboards, educators called for a way to replace IS-01's slim Interactive Pen when lost or misplaced. In response, IPEVO is offering the Replacement Pen. The Replacement Pen is identical to the original IS-01 Interactive Pen, which can now be replaced without having to buy another IS-01 system. The Replacement Pen is available from the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.

Two devices make up the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System: the Sensor Cam and the Interactive Pen. Infrared signals are given off by the Interactive Pen when it is held and operated at the whiteboard surface. The Sensor Cam – which is positioned facing the surface – then picks up and interprets these signals, translating them into cursor movements and mouse clicks. Educators or students at the whiteboard can thus control a computer's operating system as well as software applications. Projected teaching material becomes interactive material. The Sensor Cam connects via standard USB and is compatible with either PC or Mac computers.

The full range of mouse operations are available, thanks to a button on the Interactive Pen's shaft as well as a contact-sensitive tip. Left and right clicks, double clicks, mouse drags and cursor control can all be accomplished with simple operations. The Interactive Pen is battery-operated and requires two AAA batteries. As for the Sensor Cam, this small device measures only a few inches high and can be placed on a table or projector. And with an included sticker, the Sensor Cam can also be placed on a ceiling-mounted projector. Calibration to ensure accuracy between Sensor Cam and Interactive Pen is accomplished with a small software program that takes only a handful of steps.

It should be noted that the Replacement Pen is intended for use with the IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System as a replacement accessory when the pen is lost. It is not a standalone product. Additionally, the IS-01 does not support multi-touch functions. Two Interactive Pens cannot be used with IS-01 at the same time. Only one Interactive Pen can be properly operated at a time.

"For educators who have lost their Interactive Pens, the Replacement Pen keeps the interactive lessons going without having to purchase another IS-01 system," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Particularly in classrooms with younger and excitable learners who love experimenting with the Interactive Pen as a 'magic wand,' it's certainly possible to misplace the pen. With the Replacement Pen, the Sensor Cam has a new partner that works in identical fashion to the original Interactive Pen."

The IS-01 Interactive Whiteboard System, as well as the Replacement Pen for the IS-01, are both available for purchase at the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.
